Responsible Innovation: design, production and characterization of nanoparticles


Right now, the main goal for this company is the commercial exploitation of BioGAS+ the patent application PCT/EP2012/054022 "biogas production" at national level, in EEUU and Europe. The ownership belongs to the Institut Català de Nanotecnologia, the Institució Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avançats at 9.5% and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona at 45%.


The idea of the project consists: The use of Iron oxide nanoparticles as additives to optimize the production of Biogas +. Furthermore, they are also appropriate for production, characterization and commercialization of nanoparticles, as well as consulting work related to other possible industrial uses. In this way APPLIED NANOPARTICLES.SL researches the use of iron oxide nanoparticles or similar, in other applications, such as catalysis, environmental remediation or hyperthermia.


Our business development is based on the principles of Responsible Innovation, focusing on the design of nanoparticles and low energy processes, low toxicity, waste minimization and reduction of pollutant emissions. Therefore, APPLIED NANOPARTICLES.SL, following the example of Biogas +, it will design advanced applications from accessible materials that may be considered low-tech in the context of an academic research laboratory.



APPLIED NANOPARTICLES.SL also, intends to establish partnerships with production of nanomaterials that they have the capacity to produce at industrial scale materials designed by our company. In this sense, the activity of APPLIED NANOPARTICLES.SL is restricted to the design and technical feasibility studies and industry scaling.
